Rich, buttery coho salmon, slowly marinated in traditional Kyoto-style Saikyo miso.

Coho salmon is prized for its tender texture and naturally rich flavour. Once cooked, the flesh becomes beautifully flaky, while its delicate sweetness and natural umami gently melt in every bite.

The salmon is complemented by the mellow sweetness and elegant aroma of Saikyo miso.
Originating in Kyoto, Saikyo miso is a traditional white miso made with plenty of rice koji and less salt than regular miso.
Its naturally mild sweetness enhances the flavour of the fish without overpowering it, which is why it has long been used in Japan to marinate seafood.

As the salmon slowly absorbs the miso, the flavour penetrates deep into the flesh. When cooked, the surface becomes lightly caramelised and fragrant, while the inside remains moist, tender, and full of flavour.

Served with freshly steamed rice, it's the kind of comforting Japanese meal you'll find yourself wanting to enjoy again and again.

Cooking Instructions
- Delivered frozen. Transfer to the refrigerator the day before cooking and allow it to thaw slowly.
- Before cooking, gently wipe off most of the Saikyo miso marinade, leaving a thin layer on the salmon.
- Cook in a frying pan, grill, toaster oven, or air fryer over low to medium heat until fully cooked.
*As Saikyo miso burns easily because of its natural sweetness, take care not to cook over high heat.
*Enjoy with steamed rice, miso soup, and seasonal vegetables for a simple and comforting Japanese meal.
