Story of Kani Monogatari
They first encountered Deep Sea Red Crab about 40 years ago.
When the president heard that there was a large catch of the delicious crab in Africa, he immediately set sail from Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture.
However, the crab was not well distributed in Japan because of the poor color of its shell, and it did not attract much attention.
Due to these reasons and the difficulty of catching crabs, many fishing boats gradually withdrew from the market.
However, believing in the taste and rarity of this crab, they continued to challenge the sea.
Currently, there are only two vessels in Japan that are qualified to catch this crab.
Even today, they still sail from Kesennuma to the waters off the southern hemisphere African country of Namibia, where they spend about 10 months fishing.

Note |
*Please avoid refreezing the product once it has been thawed as this will deteriorate the quality. *Please consume as soon as possible after thawing. * Fresh snow crabs may turn black over time (discoloration due to oxidation), but this does not affect the quality. *Since the storage temperature in your home freezer is not constant, please consume it as soon as possible regardless of the expiration date. The blackening described above may progress even when frozen, so we recommend consuming it within two weeks, depending on storage conditions. |
