Ginsen Sumidaya Rice

Presenting Gensen Sumidaya rice milled by Sumidaya Shoten with a history of more than 150 years in Tokyo. They have been awarded with multiple awards.

Carefully choosing and blending from over 300 varieties of rice, Gensen Sumidaya is a mix of Koshihikari rice and Hitomibore rice product by Sumidaya Shoten to bring out the best quality and feature of the rice.

Koshihikari rice is from Iwafune, Niigata prefecture. Niigata is a well-known location for the best quality rice in Japan and commonly used in daily meals.

Hitomibore rice is from Shinmei, Miyagi prefecture. It is one of the famous locations for it’s rice production. Its’ grains are bigger than Koshihikari grains so if you look closely you can see the different sizes in our Gensen Sumidaya rice!

By mixing the two popular and famous rice together, the rice you cook from Gensen Sumidaya is much sweeter and glosser.

Furthermore, due to how Gensen Sumidaya rice is a better quality to serve as sushi rice, a lot of the chefs and Michelin starred restaurants changed their sushi rice to Gensen Sumidaya!
