Queen Rouge Grape クイーンルージュ

New red grape crossing "Unicorn" and "Shine Muscat"

Queen Rouge is a new red grape variety developed by Nagano Prefecture.

It's an original Nagano variety created by crossing "Unicorn" and "Shine Muscat" grapes.

The variety was registered in 2019 and made its full market debut in 2021.

Sweetness: With a high sugar content of 20% to 22% Brix, it has a notably strong sweet taste.

Acidity: There's very little acidity, which highlights the sweetness. This balance makes it enjoyable to eat without becoming overwhelmingly sweet or tiresome.

Aroma: It has a subtle muscat fragrance, spreading a fresh and crisp flavor in the mouth. This aroma is said to be similar to that of Shine Muscat.

Texture: The skin is thin and edible, giving a crisp bite, while the flesh is soft. A key feature is that there's minimal skin residue when eaten.

*We will use Japanese fruit boxes for packaging, considering factors such as damage prevention and hygiene.

Queen Rouge is a relatively new variety, having just made its full market debut in 2021. As an original variety developed by Nagano Prefecture, cultivation is currently only permitted within Nagano.

As a result, the harvest volume of Queen Rouge is still limited and is estimated to be significantly lower compared to other major grape varieties.
