How to Tell When It’s Ready

Earls melons ripen gradually after harvest. With a little patience, you’ll catch the perfect moment.
Here’s what to look for:

・Fragrance
When a soft, sweet aroma begins to fill the room, the melon is nearing peak ripeness.

・Softness at the base
Gently press the bottom (opposite the stem). If it yields slightly, the flesh inside is smooth and ready to eat.

・Wilted stem
When the stem begins to dry and wilt, it’s a sign the melon is fully ripened and full of sweetness.

How to Enjoy & Store

・Once ripe, chill in the refrigerator for 2–3 hours before serving
・After cutting, remove the seeds and wrap any leftovers — best enjoyed within 2 days
