In 1916, Nousaku began manufacturing Buddhist ritual objects, Japanese tea sets, and vases made of brass and bronze in Takaoka, Japan. The city has flourished since 1609 and built its reputation as the center of the copper industry in Japan over those 400 years.

Casting is a manufacturing process in which molten metal is poured into a mold to form an object of the desired shape. Every Nousaku product starts with the creation of a sand mold and then undergoes several finishing processes. Hand-finishing by experienced craftsmen accentuates its material beauty and fineness.

Nousaku is a manufacturer that has attracted attention for its unique 100% copper products, such as sake cups and tumblers that cool down drinks just by pouring cold drinks into them. The company's main factory in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, is one of the most popular tourist spots in the prefecture, visited by 120,000 people a year. Nousaku is proud of its technological prowess. The company has developed its own casting method using silicon. Nousaku's reputation is now growing in the U.S. and Europe, and the company is also in the process of establishing a joint venture with a major Taiwanese pottery manufacturer.

Nousaku began to create its own brand of products in order to be more proud of its work and techniques. By setting up directly managed stores and listening to the voices of customers, Nousaku expanded its products into various fields, from tableware to household sundries and even to medical equipment.

Nousaku, hoping to somehow revive the foundry town, is going on the offensive to revitalize the foundry town, using the brand power it has cultivated by teaching its own development techniques to Takaoka foundry manufacturers, launching a new brand "Nousaku Prestige" in collaboration with local craftsmen, and opening a directly-managed store in Tokyo.
