A Diving Day in Izu
Clear waters and coastal Japan, just three hours from Tokyo

*A privately curated experience by JPASS TRAVEL.
For travelers seeking more than sightseeing, this is a day shaped by nature, clarity, and genuine local charm. Just three hours from Tokyo, Izu offers an unexpected escape where clear blue waters, fresh seafood, quiet coastal towns, and soothing hot springs remain part of everyday life.

You do not need to travel far to experience something deeply Japanese. Close enough for a day trip yet far enough to feel like a true journey, Izu provides a balance of nature and culture that is rarely found so near the capital.

Few international visitors realize that diving is possible just a few hours from Tokyo. Izu, warmed by the Kuroshio Current, is one of Japan’s leading diving regions and the birthplace of recreational diving in the country in the 1960s. Its volcanic terrain and nutrient-rich waters create diverse underwater landscapes that continue to attract divers year after year.

For Japanese travelers, Izu is a familiar and beloved resort. For many international visitors, however, it remains undiscovered due to limited English-speaking support and public transport access.
That is why we created a plan that includes round-trip private transportation from Tokyo and English-speaking guidance, providing safe and comfortable access to Izu’s waters.

Thanks to the Kuroshio Current, the sea remains relatively warm throughout the year. Winter, in particular, offers the clearest visibility, a season highly regarded by experienced divers. With a wetsuit, you remain comfortable while the seafloor appears with remarkable clarity beneath you.

After diving, Izu reveals another side. Hot spring towns, quiet streets, and seasonal scenery are just a short drive away. This is not a busy tourist area but a region where calmness and a sense of everyday Japanese comfort remain.
Optional Places to Visit After Diving
Shuzenji Onsen
A historic hot spring town with more than 1,200 years of history, known for its bamboo groves and traditional bridges.
Koibito Misaki
A scenic coastal viewpoint with expansive ocean views.
Toi Gold Mine
A former Edo-period gold mine, now an interactive walking route with tunnels and exhibits.
Seasonal Izu
Cherry blossoms in spring, fireworks in summer, autumn foliage, and crisp winter air. Each season reshapes the landscape.
